Test a defined change under set conditions. Strong for that comparison, but often shorter and narrower than real life.

Across three large US cohorts and an updated meta-analysis, moderate consumption of up to one egg a day was not associated with overall cardiovascular disease risk.
This is largely observational evidence. Results varied between geographic regions, and it cannot show that eggs themselves prevent or cause disease.
The pooled cohort evidence did not find higher cardiovascular risk among people eating more than one egg a day compared with lower intakes.
The included studies used different intake definitions and populations. Pooling observational data does not remove residual confounding.
Guidance should focus on an overall heart-healthy dietary pattern, with attention to saturated fat as well as foods containing cholesterol.
