What “consumption” means here
Supply is not the same as food eaten.
FAO food-balance figures estimate eggs available for human consumption after production, trade and supply-chain uses. They do not subtract waste in homes, so actual intake may be lower.
About the egg-count switch
A useful illustration, not a second dataset.
The count assumes 60 g per shell-on egg. Egg sizes differ internationally, so kilograms are the sounder unit for comparing countries.
